Objective: Replace outdated metal-halide floodlights with high-performance 1000W Arena Module LED Flood Lights to deliver competition-grade illumination and improve visibility, safety, and energy efficiency.

Background

The Soccer Club hosts regional and state level competitions as well as community training programs throughout the year.
The facility’s existing lighting system consisted of 2kW metal halide floodlights installed over ten years ago. These fittings suffered from long warm up times, uneven coverage, high energy use, and frequent maintenance issues.

The club required a full LED retrofit that would:

• Achieve competition-standard lux levels for two main fields and training-standard levels for the third
• Provide uniform light distribution with no glare for players or spectators
• Reduce energy consumption and maintenance downtime
• Support night games, training sessions, and local tournaments year-round.

Solution

Following a full site inspection and lighting simulation, LED EXPO Australia designed and supplied a custom system featuring:

• 24 × 1000W Arena Module LED Flood Lights, comprising:
  • 6 × 45 degree beam angle fixtures for long throw perimeter lighting
  • 18 × 60 degree beam angle fixtures for wide, even field coverage

These precision-engineered floodlights deliver up to 160 lumens per watt, producing more than 160,000 lumens per fitting with exceptional control and minimal spill light.
